My GPA is not very great only a 2.9.But I go to a top 3 university in Texas that has produced numerous politicians, business men and women etc. etc..My Question- Most internships require a 3.0 MINIMUM to even apply for an interview slot. I've searched my college database and none of the internships which allow below a 3.0 are in banking or finance. How the hell do I find an internship that would even consider me?My major GPA is a 3.2 but I know that my GPA doesn't matter. Look at Joe biden, George bush, Michael dell the numerous successful college drop outs. I have friends at Harvard and other ivies that are on the same intellectual level as me. but does that even matter when the employer cuts me out from even a f#$ing interview because i was a pre-med my freshman year (both summer schools+ Fall AND Spring) and got 2 C's in biology and 2 C's in chemistry. ridiculous anyways i'm ranting but where else should i check?I'd appreciate any help or guidance!

You are allowed to put your major GPA ONLY on your resume if you specifically state that that is what it is. That is not false information. Your major GPA is basically what really matters anyways, and once you get past that "hoop" then you'll be able to show off your brilliance through your networking skills, intellect, etc. Real-life is much different than school, but GPA is a way for employers to just narrow down the search a little.Once you put your 3.2 and start getting your interviews make sure you explain that that is your major GPA, but that should help you to get to the interviews. Some companies may be strict about overall, but most that I have interviewed with will take either or, and probably will be more happy that your major GPA is solid. Good luck.
